When it comes to NFL futures betting there are a few things to keep in mind. Today, we preview the best NFL betting sites for this football season. Number one, if you place your wager at the start of the season, you’ll likely get the best odds. Number two, if you decide to wait for a team to get off to a slow start, while their odds may increase, the chances of your bet panning out get slimmer by the second.

The beauty of laying down a futures bet before the regular season begins is the risk is taken out. Risk out of the equation and you have plenty of runway for potential. Laying a bet down during the year, while possibly lucrative in the end, could be a surefire path to additional risk, stress and wasted money. We’re just being honest here. The further into the season we get, the less runway your bet has for panning out.

Now, with all of that in mind, let’s check out the top AFC bets this season. We’ve handpicked the best of the best, the middle of the pack and your best longshot for 2022.

THE BEST – Buffalo Bills +600

The Buffalo Bills are this season’s best bet. This entering the new campaign for a pair of reasons. Their offense looks great on paper (again) and their defense has been bolstered by one of the NFL’s best and most legendary players. Looking for the best NFL betting sites to wager on NFL this season?

Once again Josh Allen is among the top MVP candidates and will be looking to build upon his career year in 2021 where he led his team to an AFC East-best 11-6 record. The Bills will once again be relying upon their sterling wideout corps led by Stefon Diggs with Devin Singletary, Zack Moss and rookie James Cook pounding the rock.

Meanwhile, on the back end, watch out for new defensive lineman Von Miller. Miller to bring the noise up the middle this season. Fresh off his Super Bowl win with the Rams last year. Miller signed this offseason to a massive six-year $120 million dollar deal and will anchor the line. Meanwhile, the Bills will once again rely on one of the best secondaries in football to fill the holes behind him.

Once again Buffalo is one of the best or in this case – the best pick in the AFC/NFL.

MIDDLE OF THE PACK – New England +3500

Again, we’re going back to the AFC East because we like what the Patriots are building in New England. Mac Jones looks like his trajectory is going nowhere but up and this offseason the team added a few ‘under the radar’ names that could help them drastically in turn as well.

On the offensive side of the ball, Jones will again be stealing headlines as the second year Alabama product will look to build upon his excellent rookie campaign that saw him toss 22 touchdowns with a QB rating of 92.5. Their run game should fare well again with Rhamondre Stevenson. Also, Damien Harris sharing the duties while new additions at wideout DeVante Parker, Nelson Agholor and Ty Montogomery should help shore up the long balls.

Meanwhile, on defense, while the team did lose ball hawk JC Jackson to the Los Angeles Chargers, they added safety Jabrill Peppers and cornerback Terrence Mitchell. They also slotted in former Cleveland Brown linebacker Mack Wilson in a deal to help bolster the inside.

The Patriots may not be the sexiest pick, but at +3500, they could make for a decent roll of the dice.

LONGSHOT PICK – Houston Texans +17,500 Best NFL Betting Sites

Believe it or not, we’re not just picking the lowest ranked team in the future bin here. Promise! There’s a rhyme and a reason for our madness. The Texans are not actually as bad on paper as many would think. Also, will surprise the masses this season. Will they surprise enough to bring home a division banner let alone a championship? Probably not, but if you like to live dangerously, there is no better pick. View updated odds here.

On offense, Davis Mills will look to build upon his relatively decent year. It was pretty good!  It didn’t start all the best, but the team did rattle off some big upset wins over the Chargers and Titans. They surprised with some pretty close scoreboards here and there and with a few new additions for 2022, they should be able to better their 4-13 record from a year ago.

On defense, the team added both Mario Addison and Jerry Hughes out of Buffalo. They also drafted a wealth of talent on the back end with CB Derrick Stingley Jr (Round 1), S Jalen Pitre (Round 2) and LB Christian Harris (Round 3).

Yes, the Texans will be young, but they’ll be fun to watch in 2022.
